Med Administration Take Action

Current Status

House Bill 96 was introduced on February 16, 2021.  Since then, NCAP has been engaged in tough negotiations with the NC Medical Society, who immediately raised concerns with the bill.  The bill was finally heard in the House Health Committee on May 11th.  NCAP representatives were in attendance.  A serial referral to the House Insurance Committee was stricken and the bill was sent to the House Rules Committee.  The bill passed out of House Rules Committee and was sent to the House floor on May 11th, where it passed 111-0 vote, and it was then sent to the Senate, where it has been assigned to the Senate Rules Committee.
